Bulky goods up to 31.5 kg and 200 cm in length and combined length and girth of 360 cm (= length + 2x width = 2x height)

DHL Maxitransport for items weighing up to 100 kg, size up to 600 x 230 x 200 cm

• Shipments with dimensions larger than 120 x 60 x 60 cm  
• or shipments that are neither rectangular nor roll-shaped
• or shipments that are not in a solid cardboard box

are classed as bulky goods - and will incur additional charges for carriage.

Do you want to ensure that you get the money for the goods you're sending?

With the cash on delivery service, your DHL Paket is only handed over to the recipient once the outstanding sum has been paid. This means that you, as a sender, can be sure that you will receive your money.

The cash on delivery service cannot be used in conjunction with the postage not paid service, or for shipments franked with DHL online franking.

Do you want to send a roll-shaped parcel?

If you wish to send a shipment in roll format, you will require a roll stamp.

If your roll-shaped shipment exceeds the maximum dimensions or weight given below, it is defined as bulky goods. A roll stamp is not required in such cases.

Do you require written confirmation of receipt?

By attaching a prepared advice of delivery to your parcel you can ensure that the recipient confirms receipt of the item with their signature. The signed advice of delivery will be sent back to you as confirmation of receipt. The required advice of delivery form is available from your nearest outlet.

The advice of delivery service is not available in combination with postage not paid or DHL online franking.

Does your parcel exceed the maximum Paket dimensions or have special characteristics?

Bulky goods are shipments of up to 31.5 kg which:

• if rectangular, exceed the parcel dimensions of 120 x 60 x 60 cm
• if roll-shaped, weigh more than 5 kilograms or exceed a length of 120 cm or a diameter of 15 cm 
• are neither rectangular nor roll-shaped 
• have protruding parts or are loosely tied or 
• have no stable external packaging of corrugated cardboard, solid board or paper.

Special delivery conditions apply to bulky goods.

Luggage items are only considered to be bulky goods if they exceed the maximum dimensions of 120 x 60 x 60 cm. The packaging shape and material are irrelevant.
Within the maximum parcel dimensions of 120 x 60 x 60 cm and the maximum parcel weight of 31.5 kg, luggage items being sent anywhere in Germany should be franked with the DHL Paketmarke for goods up to 31.5 kg.

* For parcels exceeding 10 kg or a combined length and girth of 300 cm, the bulky goods service is subject to VAT: EUR 23.80 (including VAT).

Do you require the recipient to pay the costs of delivery?

We will be responsible for loss of or damage to your DHL PAKET items during delivery anywhere in Germany up to a value of EUR 500 (only upon presentation of the acknowledged deposit receipt). For particularly valuable shipments we also offer transport insurance of up to EUR 2,500 or EUR 25,000. The outer packaging must not give any indication of the value of the shipment.

* For parcels exceeding 10 kg or a combined length and girth of 300 cm, the transport insurance service is subject to VAT: - Up to a total of EUR 2,500: EUR 4.17 (including VAT); up to a total of EUR 25,000: EUR 17.85 (including VAT).

Do you require the recipient to pay the costs of delivery?

With the postage not paid service, you can send your parcel without paying for the postage and the costs are paid for by the recipient. The recipient pays the delivery costs (the price of the postage not paid service) upon receipt of the shipment. If the recipient refuses payment (and therefore acceptance of the parcel), the parcel will be returned to you and you will be obliged to pay the delivery costs.

The postage not paid service can be combined with the bulky goods service, in which case the delivery costs amount to EUR 38.80. This service cannot be combined with any other services.
