Secondly, shipments are redirected to post office branches if the selected PACKSTATION is fully occupied.
All shipments worth EUR 1,500 or more and sent as cash on delivery will be redirected to a post office branch. Either way, you will be informed by E-mail and/ or SMS where you can collect your shipment.

Receiving parcels
Address to Packstation
How can I have my parcels sent to the Packstation?
When placing your order, specify the PACKSTATION as the delivery address. Once your shipment arrives, you will be notified by E-mail/ SMS.
So that your friends and acquaintances know where they should send parcels, you can also print out your very own business cards.
What’s the right way to address my parcels to a Packstation?
First decide on the PACKSTATION you want your shipment to be sent to. You can determine the nearest location to you easily by using the Packstation finder.
When addressing your shipments, give your name, PostNumber and "PACKSTATION" instead of the street address and the number of the relevant PACKSTATION. Also specify the post code and town marked on the PACKSTATION.
Many Internet-based mail-order companies already provide input fields for the PostNumber and number of the PACKSTATION in their forms for deliveries to a PACKSTATION. If the company you are ordering from does not, simply enter your address as a separate delivery address.
What can I do if the sender will not accept a Packstation as an address?
If the sender (e.g. a mail-order company or online store) will not accept a PACKSTATION as a recipient address, please contact the sender and discuss this with them. You can find help here for such instances.
We would also ask you to tell us the name of the sender, so that we can also get in touch with the company to help expedite compliance with our customers' requests.
Please note, however, that a delivery to a Packstation is essentially only possible if the sender is shipping the delivery via Deutsche Post.
Information about delivery
I didn’t receive an E-mail message telling me that a shipment had been delivered for me, even though I’ve given you my E-mail address. Why?
Pick up the shipment
When do I have to pick up my shipment at a Packstation?
Our parcel machines will hold your shipment for nine calendar days for you. Immediately after your shipment is delivered to the PACKSTATION, you will be notified by E-mail and/ or SMS. After 48 hours, you will be sent a reminder message and two days before the storage period ends you will receive a further message.
How do I pay for cash on delivery shipments?
If a cash on delivery shipment is delivered and you are collecting it, you will first be asked to confirm the cash on delivery. You can then pay with an EC card or GeldKarte and collect your shipment and receipt. Please bear in mind the limit for your EC card. Irrespective of this, the maximum permissible cash on delivery amount for PACKSTATION shipments is EUR 1.500.
Please note that payment by credit card or cash is not possible at machines.
It is not possible to have the shipment transferred to a branch. If a cash on delivery shipment is not collected within nine days, it is returned to the sender.
Storage period
Redirection to a post office
I’m a Packstation customer, but my shipment was redirected to a post office. How did that happen?
This can be due to one of three reasons:
Firstly, shipments are redirected to post office branches if they are unsuitable for PACKSTATION, for instance if they are too big or too bulky.
Secondly, shipments are redirected to post office branches if the selected PACKSTATION is fully occupied.
All shipments worth Euro 1,500 or more and sent as cash on delivery will be redirected to a post office branch. Either way, you will be informed by E-mail and/ or SMS where you can collect your shipment.
Home delivery
Why are my parcels being sent to my home address, even though I’m a Packstation customer?
You do not automatically have your shipments sent to a PACKSTATION simply by registering with the service. Each time you place an order, you can choose whether you want to have the shipment sent to a PACKSTATION or to your home address.
If you wish to have a shipment sent to a PACKSTATION, simply enter your PostNumber and the address of your preferred PACKSTATION as the delivery address.
Why was my parcel delivered to a Packstation when I wasn’t at home to receive it?
If the delivery person was unable to deliver your parcel to your home, he or she may leave behind a green notification card in your letter box, instead of the familiar orange one. The card bears the address of a PACKSTATION, which is where you can pick up your shipment. To remove the package from the PACKSTATION, hold the barcode on the green card against the scanner. The machine will then guide you step by step through the process of picking up your shipment. This is one way of trying out our PACKSTATION service without any obligations.
If you do not pick up your shipment from the PACKSTATION specified on the card, it will be returned to the sender once the nine calendar day storage period expires.

Where and how can I frank parcels?

Data protection information
Dear Customer,
We are delighted by your interest in PACKSTATION, the service from Deutsche Post DHL.
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and we want your visit to our website and use of the entire PACKSTATION service to be to your complete satisfaction. The protection of your privacy when handling your personal data is an important promise for us, which we always take into account in our business processes.
Your personal data
To identify you uniquely as a member of the service, and to enable us to communicate with you (for instance when your parcel arrives at a PACKSTATION machine), we will need some personal information about you. This information will be requested when you register and includes your surname, first name, address, E-mail address and/ or mobile phone number and date of birth (to check that you are aged 18 or over). We will also ask you how we can contact you with advice and information.
Transparent use of your data
Your personal data will only be used within the PACKSTATION service and to offer you services that are best-suited to your needs. With your consent, we will send you tailor-made offers and specific tips on products as well as information about PACKSTATION, together with interesting offers from other, carefully-selected companies.
Using and passing on your personal data
Deutsche Post AG processes and uses your personal data only for the PACKSTATION service. On request Deutsche Post AG informs the sender commissioned by the customer whether the information known to Deutsche Post AG (name and home address) matches the billing address that the customer has disclosed to the sender. The address is not passed on.
Only if you give us your express consent will you receive information on interesting products and services via the contact methods you gave us (including E-mail and SMS) from Deutsche Post AG and other, carefully-selected companies. Addressing and shipping is taken care of by Deutsche Post AG, so as to avoid passing on your address data. Technical aspects are taken care of by a service company, which is expressly obliged by Deutsche Post AG to adhere to conditions imposed by data protection legislation. This means that Deutsche Post AG avoids having to pass on your address data to third parties. Only by you replying to information sent to you by companies that we have chosen will these companies become aware of your address data.
Cancellation
You can cancel your consent to the use of your data at any time by writing to Deutsche Post AG, PACKSTATION, Postfach 101414, 40005 Düsseldorf, Germany. If you have not given your consent or change your mind at a later point in time, you can always adapt this function at any time via the PACKSTATION website. If you cancel your consent, your data will not be used for information and market research purposes. Of course, you can still use the PACKSTATION service. In such cases, you will simply receive customer information (e.g. regarding the opening of new machines in your town) relating to PACKSTATION.
Freedom of information
At your request, Deutsche Post AG, PACKSTATION, will inform you whether we have any of your personal data stored on our systems, and if so, what. If, despite our efforts to ensure that the data we hold is correct and up to date, we have incorrect information on our files, we will correct it at your request. You can update your personal data at any time on our PACKSTATION website.
Data security
From a technical perspective, data is transported via an encrypted SSL data cable. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) designates an encryption technology and exchange protocol that is used both by the sender and the recipient for encrypted data transport. This technology facilitates the encrypted exchange of data between a PC and an Internet server, with the transferred information being inaccessible to third parties and communicated in a manner that cannot be "overheard" by others. The result is a secure communication connection.

- an area of around 4 x 2 x 2.5 m, or 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 m (width/ depth/ height)
- 24-hour access
- a power connection (230 V)
- a telephone line
then please contact us at info[at]packstation.de stating your name, postal address and the addresses of your premises. We will send you a questionnaire for you to fill in all the relevant information about your site(s).
