Latest security tips
New: There are again large numbers of phishing E-mails in circulation at the moment which ask you to unlock your locked Packstation account. These E-mails are linked to a fake DHL website where you are asked to enter your PostNumber, password and PIN.
Please note: We will never ask you for your PIN by E-mail, post or telephone!
It has recently come to our attention that there has been a breach in the security system of a mail-order computer game retailer. As a result some customer data from this retailer (such as E-mail addresses) has been lost, and some of these E-mail addresses may receive phishing E-mails.
Please ignore and delete any such E-mails immediately! For more information on phishing, take a look at our security tips.
Important security instructions
We do everything we can to protect your DHL PACKSTATION customer data from unauthorised access. However, we are not completely exempt from criminals' attempts to commit fraud. Fraudsters use the Internet to obtain access to customer data, customer cards and PIN numbers using a ruse (e.g. an alleged server crash or data loss at the PACKSTATION).
We regularly check the Internet for any suspicious offers, entries, etc. All provable cases of fraud and misuse are vigorously prosecuted.
However, it is nevertheless in your best interests to handle your customer data, customer card and PIN number with care and attention.
Please take a look at the following general security tips:
- We will never ask you for your PostPIN by e-mail, post or telephone. Never give out your PostPIN in such situations.
- Your PostPIN is only required to use Packstation machines. Never enter it if requested to do so to log in to a website, even if it appears to be an official DHL or PACKSTATION website.
- Do not pass your registration documents on to anyone! Do not hand over your customer card or PostPIN, even if you are asked to do so in what appears to be an official form (e.g. an e-mail or letter with the DHL logo or over the phone).
- Please note that the Goldcard is the property of Deutsche Post and is personally issued to you only. Do not share it with anyone else, and never give it to a person you do not know. You may be held liable for any misuse by a third party.

What is “phishing”?
Phishing (password fishing) is the term used to describe attempts by third parties to get customers to reveal their access data to personalised online services.
Via a link or a button in a fake e-mail, which to all intents and purposes looks genuine, customers are forwarded to a third-party website.
On this fake website, customers are then prompted to enter their personal access data, for instance their account number, a PIN, a user name or a password.
Security check
Essentially, you should only enter personal data on websites that satisfy the following security criteria:
If DHL asks for your personal data - such as on the registration page or on the login page - then your data is encrypted when it is transferred. Fake websites generally do not have encrypted transfer. You can see this from the encryption protocol "https" instead of "http" and from the display of the key icon.
If you double-click on the key icon, you will find out more information on the site's security certificate.
