Frequently Asked Questions

In the parcel notification we only let you know an estimated delivery time. Unfortunately, from time to time this cannot be kept.

Below are some possible reasons why your parcel might arrive at a later time or the next day:

  • Unexpected problems occurred during delivery, e.g. poor weather conditions, traffic congestion, an accident, illness, etc.
  • During sorting, the required information could not be read or assigned and the shipment had to be processed manually.
  • Due to defects in the outer packaging (e.g. tears in the cardboard), your parcel had to be repackaged for safe onward transport.

Please understand that it is not possible to have direct contact with the deliverer or to accelerate the shipment through customer service.

A parcel notification will inform you, free of charge, about the expected delivery day of the parcel you have ordered to your home address.

You will not receive a parcel notification for shipments to postal outlet, Packstations and for shipments that do not require proof of delivery.

When ordering online, simply enter your PostNumber below your name in addition to your home address. It is best to use the "Address suffix" field if the option is offered.

Once the shipment has been passed to DHL, you will receive a free parcel notification indicating the expected delivery date for your parcel. In addition, the parcel is automatically displayed in your parcel summary in your customer account and in the Post & DHL app.

The PostNumber is your personal DHL customer number that you receive when you register. You can also find it on your customer card, in your customer account and in the Post and DHL app.

If you order a parcel to be delivered to a Packstation, you need to enter your PostNumber in the address suffix field of the delivery address when ordering.

Your PostNumber also makes it easier to assign all other items you receive to your customer account, regardless of whether they are sent to a postal outlet or your home address. You will then receive a parcel notification and the parcel will automatically be displayed in your parcel overview and the Post and DHL app. Simply enter your PostNumber for parcels to your home address in the address suffix field.
