Pick up parcels at the Packstation with the Post & DHL App

Packstations are becoming even easier and more convenient: From now on, we are changing the way parcels addressed directly to the Packstation are received, so that you only need to scan the new pick-up code from your smartphone to pick up the shipment. So you no longer need your DHL customer card to pick up parcels. Use the new pick-up method today by updating your Post & DHL App and carrying out the one-off smartphone activation procedure.

1. Install the app

Already got the app? Then you just need to update it.

Download the Post & DHL App (for Android and iOS)

Also: The app also works on tablets!

Use your Postnumber or e-mail address and password from your customer account to log in.

If nothing happens, enable the Packstation via SMS section.

2. Activating a smartphone

In the Post & DHL App, tap the Activate button in the Packstation section.

If your smartphone is not activated straight away, tap DHL customer card and scan the barcode of your DHL customer card. Your device is activated!

Tap on Request activation code if your customer card does not have a barcode or if you no longer have your customer card. This will trigger the sending of the activation code via the post, and it will reach you within 2 - 5 days.

Scan the activation code in using the Post & DHL App, and your smartphone is activated.

3. Scan the pick-up code

You will find your shipments in the Packstation section of the Post & DHL App.

In the app, tap on the Packstation you are standing in front of and your pick-up code will be displayed.

On the Packstation screen, select the menu item Pick up and scan your pick-up code. Then you can directly open the compartment containing your shipment. You no longer need to enter your customer card or Postnumber.

Are you using a Packstation without a display?

Then you only have to activate your smartphone once. Nothing changes for you when you collect your parcel!

Part of this strategy includes the upcoming changes to how the Packstation works. These changes will not only increase security for you, but also convenience when it comes to receiving parcels.

With this in mind, the development of the Post & DHL App is being continued to create a centralised channel for services around sending and receiving letters and parcels.

Switching makes receiving goods and shipments even more convenient with the Packstation.

To pick up shipments that are addressed directly to the Packstation, all you need is your Post & DHL App. The customer card is no longer needed. Instead, the pick-up code is scanned as a QR code in the app.

You can use the new, scannable pick-up code right away. To do this, update the Post & DHL App and enable your smartphone in the app (this is a one-off process).

As an existing Packstation customer, at the moment you can still pick up your parcels using your customer card and four-digit pick-up code at the Packstation, should you wish to. Soon, you will only be able to receive the pick-up code via the Post & DHL app. For security reasons, you will no longer receive an e-mail with your pick-up code.

Please note: As soon as you have enabled your smartphone for the scannable pick-up code, you will only be able to use the new method and will receive the pick-up code exclusively in the app, not by e-mail.

This device enabling step is a one-off process for each device (smartphone or tablet) and ensures that only the authorised recipient is able to pick up their shipment from the Packstation with the Post & DHL App.

You have several options for enabling your device:

  1. If you have already scanned your customer card with the Post & DHL App, your device is enabled automatically. 
  2. You can otherwise enable your device by scanning the barcode on your customer card using the Post & DHL App (in the Packstation section). 
  3. If your customer card does not have a scannable code, or if you have mislaid your card, you can request an activation code in the app. This letter is then sent to the address stored in your customer account. Simply scan the activation code using the Post & DHL App.

New customers are automatically sent their activation code by letter when they register for the DHL Packstation.

Please be aware that enabling your device will switch you over to the new way of using the Packstation and you will not be able to return to the old method of using the customer card and four-digit pick-up code.
