When processing import shipments that are subject to duties, customs issues an assessment notice for the import charges collected. This notice is provided by customs exclusively to Deutsche Post and DHL in their role as representatives of the recipient. You can request the customs assessment notice through DHL Group.

To request the customs assessment notice from customs on your behalf, the shipment number is required. You can find the shipment number on your shipment. Shipment numbers always begin with the letters C, E, L, R, or U.

Yes, you can receive the customs assessment notice by email. The prerequisite is that the sender has provided your email address to Deutsche Post and DHL, and that you agree to electronic delivery when requesting the notice. Otherwise, the customs assessment notice will be sent to you by post.
