If your shipment exceeds at least one of the dimensions H 120 x W 60 x L 60 cm, you must select "bulky goods."

  • Within Germany: Allowed up to a length of 200 cm and a girth of 360 cm (= length + 2x width + 2x height).
  • International shipping: In most cases, the maximum length is 150 cm and the maximum girth is 300 cm. You will find the exact specifications after selecting your destination country.

 

Anything larger cannot be transported by DHL Paket.

The girth measurement is a size specification that describes the volume. It is calculated as follows:
Length + 2 × Width + 2 × Height

Example: A shipment measuring 60 cm × 20 cm × 10 cm has a girth of 120 cm (= 60 + 2 × 20 + 2 × 10). This measurement is used to calculate the required transport capacity.

You have the following options for franking your parcels:

  • Online franking - Create and pay for your shipping labels easily online or in the Post & DHL app and choose the most convenient drop-off option for you (Packstation, postal outlet, parcel shop, or handover to the delivery agent).
  • Postal outlet - Simply fill out the shipping form, attach it, pay at the counter, and drop off your parcel.
  • Paket/Päckchen Label (domestic shipping only) - Order your practical supply easily in the Shop der Deutschen Post.

 

Franking your parcels with stamps is not permitted.

As a business customer, you can also use franking machines and the Deutsche Post franking service for Päckchen within Germany and the EU.

Yes, a pick-up can be booked for all shipments directly in Online franking or separately via the pick-up service link. You can have your shipments picked up from your preferred address anywhere in Germany or also from your parcel box at home.

You also have the option of registering a preferred location for the pick-up of your shipments if you are ever not home.
