Contract amendment as of July 1, 2026

You are already using GoGreen Plus, our service for effective CO2e reduction across the value chain. We are continuously developing this service further to provide you with even greater transparency and clearer communication around sustainability.

Below you will find two updates regarding GoGreen Plus:

  1. New supporting materials for your online shop in the Business Customer Portal
  2. Replacement of the GoGreen Plus logo with a new claim on your shipments

1. New GoGreen Plus materials for your online shop in the Business Customer Portal

Sustainable shipping is becoming increasingly important for many online retailers, as are clear and legally compliant environmental claims in e-commerce. Companies that explain their sustainability practices clearly and comprehensibly create trust among consumers and enhance their own competitiveness.

To help you present GoGreen Plus clearly and correctly in your online shop, checkout process and customer communications, we are now providing supporting materials in the Business Customer Portal section Help & Information.

The materials are provided for support purposes only. You are responsible for their specific use as well as for the legal review of your online shop texts.

To help you, we have added some additional information on using the materials to the GoGreen Plus service description, which is part of your business customer contract. These changes take effect as of July 1, 2026.  The corresponding contract amendment is available for download below.

2. Replacement of the GoGreen Plus logo with a new claim on your shipments

Under the German Act Against Unfair Competition (UWG), new legal requirements for environmental claims on products and shipments will enter into effect starting September 27, 2026. Accordingly, the current GoGreen Plus logo on your shipments will be replaced. The service itself remains unchanged.

What is changing

The current logo on your items will be discontinued. Instead, you will use the following standardized claim:

  • Current used as logo: GoGreen Plus - We reduce carbon emissions with DHL (logo)

  • New as text: We ship using the sustainability program of DHL. Information: www.GoGreenPlus.de

Here's what you have to do

If you display GoGreen Plus content on the items you ship, please switch to the new claim by September 27, 2026, at the latest.

  • If you generate your shipping labels on the Business Customer Portal or using the API: They will automatically be printed with the new claim.

  • If you use an in-house programmer or partner system: Please make sure to make the necessary changes before the deadline. All the information you need can be found online in the Group API Developer Portal.

The corresponding contract amendment, which will take effect on July 1, 2026, is available for download below.

Contract amendment overview document

Sustainable logistics is becoming increasingly important - and a priority for more and more people. Here at Deutsche Post and DHL, sustainable shipping has also long been a high priority, and is also very popular with our customers. Our GoGreen Plus service takes sustainable shipping to the next level. It significantly reduces shipping-related CO2e emissions - an advantage offered by no other shipping provider in Germany at this time. As of July 1, 2025, the new GoGreen Plus service will be added to the services included in your business customer contract ("Leistungsbeschreibung").

In order to operate a reliable logistics network of consistently high quality, we continuously invest in the expansion of our parcel infrastructure. This allows us to reliably process the growing parcel volumes for you and your customers. In addition, the constantly changing market conditions have forced us to make a number of changes, including updated GT&C and dangerous goods regulations.

All changes to the GT&C, the contracts and the additional fees are contained in the following overview and in the downloads section further down.

Updated General Terms and Conditions (GT&C)

This concerns the following terms and conditions:

  • GT&C Paket/Express National
  • GT&C DHL Paket International
  • GT&C DHL Europaket

The changes are as follows:

  • Changes required for legal reasons (such as a new jurisdiction clause or dispute resolution process, changes concerning customs and foreign trade legislation) and
  • Changes necessitated by operational adjustments (discontinuation of weapon shipping in Express, and urn shipping and redirection in Paket)

Updated Dangerous Goods Regulations Part 2 DHL Paket and letter-like shipments, national

These have been adjusted to comply with the legal amendments to the ADR (Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).

The changes essentially expand your options for the shipment of dangerous goods. The main changes are as follows:

  • The shipment of dangerous goods in accordance with the aforementioned regulations is permitted with the product DHL Kleinpaket (small parcels).

  • The shipment of UN 3373 "Biological Substances, Category B" is permitted.

  • Additionally, sodium-ion batteries with UN numbers 3551 and 3552 must be labeled in accordance with Special Provision (SP) 188 and the new SP 400 ADR/RID, as specified in 5.2.1.9 ADR/RID.

Overview of contract amendments

  • New/improved DHL GoGreen Plus service

  • Introduction of peak-in-peak surcharge

  • Introduction of customs data post-processing fee

  • Addition of new products relating to routing codes and the return fee

Overview of adjustments/introduction of additional fees

We experience cost increases due to additional workflow steps in shipment processing; these costs have risen sharply in recent years. We must therefore introduce or adjust selected additional fees for domestic and international shipments, which will be calculated according to the costs incurred only by the affected shipments.

The overview "Price adjustment of additional fees effective July 1, 2025" is available in the downloads section.

Please add these annexes to your contract documents on file. All documents can be found in our downloads section and will enter into effect starting July 1, 2025.
