"One-time code" - delivery after code verification

With the "One-time code" service, ensure that your shipments within Germany are handed over exclusively to the authorized recipient-only after the "One-time code" has been verified and validated. 

You provide us with the recipient's email address-necessary for communication purposes-within the PAN data. A "One-time code" generated by DHL is then sent to this email address, which was supplied by you as the sender. The code can also be sent by DHL via RCS or SMS.

Delivery takes place only upon presentation of the correct "One-time code". Verification of the code is performed via an automated cross-check within DHL's delivery system (delivery to an alternative recipient is possible, provided they have been authorized by the original recipient through the forwarding of the "One-time code").

If the delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the shipment is forwarded to a postal retail outlet. There, it will be handed over following verification of the "One-time code".

The "One-time code" service is already included in your contract and can be ordered directly via DHL's shipping logistics system ("Ship" function in the Post & DHL Business Customer Portal). You can also use the service if you program your own systems in-house. You provide us with an email address required for communication in the PAN data.

Send your shipments withthe "One-time code" service if they contain valuable goods such as:

• High-quality fashion items or electronic devices

• Watches and jewellery (up to a maximum of EUR 500)

• Highly sensitive content which must be delivered to the recipient in person, such as important documents

• etc.
