Help with Packstation device activation

Frequently asked questions about device activation

This so‑called device activation is required once per end device (smartphone or tablet).

As a rule, device activation is performed automatically when your customer account is verified.

If you verify your customer account via POSTIDENT, device activation is carried out automatically after successfully completing the POSTIDENT process within the Post & DHL App.

If you verify your customer account via a letter, device activation takes place together with the verification of your customer account by scanning the QR code included in the letter in the Packstation section of the app.

Customers who have already verified their customer account and want to activate additional devices can log into the app with the device to be activated and click ‘Activate device now’ in the Packstation section of the app.

You can add end devices in the Post & DHL App within your customer account.
To do this, go to 'More' in the Post & DHL App and select 'Parcel and letter receipt' > 'Packstation - Device management', then follow the on‑screen instructions.

Please note that you can activate a maximum of 5 end devices for using the Packstation.

To do this, go to 'More' in the Post & DHL App and select 'Parcel and letter receipt' > 'Parcel receipt' > 'Packstation - Device management'. Then open the three‑dot menu of the device and select 'Remove'.

Yes, you can change the device name in your DHL customer account within the Post & DHL App.

To do this, go to 'More' in the Post & DHL App and select 'Parcel and letter receipt' > 'Parcel receipt' > 'Packstation - Device management'. Then open the three‑dot menu of the device and select 'Rename'.

Please proceed as follows:

  1. Completely close the app (do not just minimize it) and then reopen it.
  2. If this does not help: Remove the already activated device. To do this, go to 'More' in the Post & DHL App and select 'Parcel and letter receipt' > 'Parcel receipt' > 'Packstation - Device management'. Open the three‑dot menu of the device and select ‘Remove’.
    Then activate your current device again.
